How to Install Drop-In Ceiling Tiles
Cast & Bevel drop-in vinyl ceiling tiles can be installed in an approved ceiling suspension system using standard 15/16" to 1 " T-bar grid. Select drop-in ceiling tile patterns can be installed using a 9/16" grid.
Step 1: Prepare Your Room & Ceiling Grid
Ceiling tiles might have a mild static charge upon removal from the box, which could potentially attract dust and debris from construction or remodeling activities. We highly recommend completing all sawing, drilling, sanding, and sweeping tasks, and thoroughly cleaning your room before installing your tiles. Rest assured, our tiles do not generate dust themselves, and any static charge will dissipate once installed.
Next, ensure your T-bar grid is thoroughly cleaned. Remove any contaminants such as dust, oil, or old paint. Then, wipe it down with a damp cloth to disperse static electricity, which tends to attract dust to the T-bar. Even if your grid is brand-new, it's important to give it a thorough cleaning.
Step 2: (Optional) Install Grid Covers
Grid Covers, decorative strips, and smooth strips are intended to conceal the T-bar in drop ceiling tile setups. Grid Covers can be installed either before or after placing the ceiling panels, although we advise installing them beforehand. Both decorative and smooth strips should be affixed to an empty grid prior to installing your ceiling tiles. Refer to the instructions provided with these accessories for installation guidance.
Step 3: Temperature Warning
As a rule of thumb, Cast & Bevel vinyl ceiling tiles and panels can withstand ceiling temperatures up to 120°F without issue. However, in certain setups with halogen lights, metal heat registers, or other heat sources like stoves or ovens, localized ceiling temperatures might exceed expectations. If your installation includes any of these specific conditions, please reach out to us for guidance.
Step 4: Install Drop-In Ceiling Tiles
Easily insert your Cast & Bevel vinyl ceiling tiles into the suspended ceiling grid.
Step 5: (Optional) Add Border Ceiling Tiles
Your ceiling may include some grid squares that are not full-size, which are typically found around the perimeter of the room. These spaces need a border tile style that has a smaller pattern repeat. To install, measure the partial grid squares, cut the border tiles to size using scissors or snips, and then insert the trimmed pieces into the grid.
